Q: My son has his Massachusetts commuter's let. He is 16 and lives in Massachusetts. He goes to school in Rhode Isle. Is he immune to bulldoze in R.I. with his learner'due south permit?

A: This is a very good question and an important one, as well.

In Rhode Island, we practice not accolade out-of-state permits due to each state having unlike requirements for obtaining a learner's permit such equally historic period, classroom grooming, etc.

The R.I. DMV always recommends that permittees check with each land before they attempt to drive with their permit in that country.

A: Thank you for contacting me and I'chiliad glad you saw the directions in one of the previous columns. As you mentioned, charity plates are NOT included in the state reissuance program, only the blueish wave design plates (passenger, commercial, combination, etc.)
